Crucifixion, a short choral tribute written by Czech-born Toronto composer
Oskar Morawetz following the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King in April
1968.
Taking its title from the "Negro spiritual" of the same name, Crucifixion
also begins by quoting from it, though the music is otherwise pure Morawetz in
his most touchingly lyrical manner.
