It was the world premiere of the Morawetz Fantasy. Its melancholy strains suited the young cellist who captured its quiet, impelling beauty. It might have been written just for her, the new Harnoy.

A few years ago Morawetz would have been accused of conservatism. Now he is in the forefront with the vogue for new romanticism. It's just that he has been writing like this for years.

And for all her new maturity, romantic is what suits Harnoy best.
