Dear Dr. Morawetz:

Thank you for your kind letter of April 4, informing me of your compositions written in tribute to the life and contributions of my husband. I appreciate receiving a copy of the score for "The Crucifixion." I trust that Mr. Rostropovich will soon perform the other composition you have written in honor of my husband.

It is interesting to note that Dorothy Maynor performed your songs. I have never had the opportunity to hear her sing except on recordings. Her voice is lovely.

I will send a copy of the recent newsletter concerning the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Social Change, the official, family-sanctioned memorial here in Atlanta.

Enclosed also is a picture of our family taken before my husband's death. Yoki, the oldest, is just home after her freshman year at Smith College. They have grown and matured greatly in these five years.

Thank you for your interest and concern, and best wishes.

Sincerely yours,

(Coretta Scott King)

Mrs. Martin Luther King, Jr.
