Sonata No. 3 for Violin and Piano

This Sonata, which is played in one continuous movement, affords the listener a shining example of the composer's intensely dramatic writing. A vibrant, urgent opening introduces the two instruments in immediate interaction. Never losing their individuality throughout, they develop in a diverging an absorbing musical fabric that is emotionally expressive and intellectually pleasing. The work appears to have two climaxes: one toward the middle and the other at the end.
