Orford Quartet impressive in Ethical series
[...]The second work was Quartet Number 2 by Morawetz, a contemporary
Czechoslovakian composer now living in Canada and a colleague of the Orford
Quartet.
In this music the quartet found its real strength. Morawetz's style is
conservative by modern standards but he is a composer who has individual style -
tight and intense and not afraid to express emotion.
The intensity does not let up for one second and the quartet gave equal
concentration in its performance.
