Jan Rubeš starred in the movie Forbidden Journey along with Susan Douglas, whom he later married. Susan (Douglas) Rubeš went on to found the Young People's Theatre in Toronto - now the  Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People. Morawetz and Rubeš remained good friends, and on several occasions, Morawetz accompanied the bass singing some of Morawetz' songs, as well as in several performances of Czech music in Toronto and New York.
